Hi Reader, Remember how I shared last week that I recently did a photo shoot? Well, I got the proofs on Tuesday and I am so happy with them. But not for the reasons that I might have been before. In the past, whenever I had a photo shoot coming up, I’d become obsessed with my weight and my fitness.Sometimes this looked like putting pressure on myself to lose 5 lbs, or workout more often, as if somehow that obsession and being more “perfect” would make my investment of time, energy and money lead to more success. If I’m being totally honest, the pressure I put on myself, usually totally backfired. Not only did I not lose any weight or significantly change my outward appearance before my photos, there were definitely times when I seemed that the reverse happened. (Yep, gained weight, looked puffy, etc. That is what a body under stress does.) My goal for this particular shoot started with having some high quality promo pics as I get my short film The Spark out into the world. But as I got closer, I started to lean into the idea of what really awesome pics to promote The Embodied Way, and to add to my acting website, might look like too. But it was different this time … there was no pressure, only play. That might sound cliché, but with 3 different looks, I imagined what I wanted each look to feel like, and set about creating that. The key here was that I was looking to capture my true essence, my full expression in that feeling. Yes, there were different outfits involved, but I let go of the idea that I was going to be physically “perfect” somehow. I know I was in better shape 2 years ago when I shot my short film The Spark for a myriad of reasons. Do I want to get back to that (or better)? Sure. But there is no more waiting for that future time period for me to be more visible and share my journey. The time is now. When I look at my pictures, if I look really close, yes, there are flaws. And I don’t care. What I’m excited about sharing is the feelings of warmth & compassion (classic best friend energy, which I bring every day to my coaching practice and my life), sexy, bold and powerful (the energy I started awakening with my short film, and there’s no stopping now), and freedom and authentic expression (my entire mission as a creative and coach). Also, these pics are totally killer, thanks to the amazing Beth at Mariposa Pictures. If you are in LA, I definitely recommend shooting with her!! On this week’s podcast, I tell the story of my own personal pleasure journey that helped me write The Spark. I share: ✨ How I stay open for my creative process. ✨ Why something new can feel unsafe, and what that has to do with procrastination. ✨ The signs I know I'm blocked, and the question I ask myself next. ✨ How creativity, emotions, and pleasure connect through the sacral chakra. ✨ How I discern the difference between a block from knowing that my body needs to rest.

Well, Reader, I did it! The Spark officially premiered on Saturday October 10th in the 10pm block. The fact that it was 10-10 at 10 is not lost on me. (If you aren’t familiar with numerology, that’s simultaneous a bunch of ‘1’s, which symbolize new beginnings, ‘111’, an angel number, and a ‘3’, when you add the ones, which is all about creativity. ) This moment was divinely guided every step of the way. I wasn’t as ready for my premiere as I thought - turns out that talking about my former...
Hi Reader, If there is one thing I’ve learned from my 6 years as an Embodiment Coach, it’s that momentum and success tend to feel a little elusive. When things are working, they are really working and we often don’t have the first idea how we got there. And when things aren’t working, we just seem to feel more stuck, no matter what we may try to do in order to change our circumstances. And so what do we do? We try harder, exhaust ourselves, and beat ourselves up for not doing enough, all at...
Hi Reader! This Sunday as my family was wrapping up our weekly Zoom call, my Dad asked me about the “rejection” I received that I had referred to on my social media. So I went on to tell him that I got my first film festival rejection … and while it wasn’t completely a surprise, it did hit me a lot harder than I thought. It actually took me a good 3-4 days to fully process the sadness. If you are curious about my process, you can read more about it on Substack here. After I shared this, I...
